Regedit Help!!

I am a domain admin on a small air base. My office in charged asked me and one of my superiors to go to each computer and disable USBSTOR inside the regedit.

Well, that isn't a problem at all. The main issue is that the superior I went with decided to Deny the Read option inside the System folder permissions. (Right click SYSTEM -> permissions -> Everyone -> Full Control -> Deny (automatically makes Read checked as Deny as well)

Does anyone know how to possibly get to change the Regedit with out being able to get into the system? When we boot, it goes through full boot process. But it stops at a black screen where the login screen would be with a mouse icon and nothing else. Can't start in safemode, gets the same result of a black screen. The person the computer (laptop) belongs to does not want to lose any of the information stored on the hard drives. So we would like to not reimage and start fresh if at all possible.

You Have denied Read Access to the System32 for Everyone? Am I right If so then No-One will be able to access the OS Until you change the Permissions - What OS Is it? and are you able to take the HDD OUt of the Multiple Computers Affected by this Change

I do Have a Solution but I will need to Know what OS You have and it might work

Many Thanks,
Josh

System32 is denied Read to anyone that starts the computer. No admin passwords set on BIOS. I can take the HDD out, but the information stored on it is needed. Valuable information for our mission we currently are doing.

Our whole domain runs on Vista - 32 bit Enterprise SP2.
