Recover systemprofile

I made a very dumb mistake: I had a shortcut on my desktop pointing to C:\Windows\System32\Config\systemprofile so I could get to the directory quickly. I was almost done and so I thought I was only removing the shortcut but when I noticed again it was in the process of removing the actual directory. So I quickly canceled the delete. But I want to make sure it didn’t actually remove any files in the directory. How can I revert this mistake and recover my ‘systemprofile’ directory?

Thank you,

Use Shadow Explorer ( ShadowExplorer.com - Downloads ) and go to one of your earlier shadows (restore points). Navigate to the file and right click on it. Then you can (re)Export it into your system.

RE: Recover Guest Profile

I was hoping to actually recreate the 'systemprofile' directory instead of going through system points. I guess I am not too comfortable doing system restorals with the restore points. I would definitely feel a lot more comfortable if I could get the 'systemprofile' directory back somehow. Recreate it, reproduce it or whatever. In doing this, I tried to 'undelete' the directory but I couldn't find it. I don't know if I was able to successfully cancel the delete operation I had initiated or what but the directory is still there and I'm not sure if I removed anything. What do you think?

Thanks,

Go to c:\Windows\System32\Config and right click on system profile properties. Click on previous versons and it will show all the previou versons(its the old copy of the system profile folder) From that listed previous version click the verson before you did all these and click restore.

Recreating system profile is not advisable :(

Hope this will help :)
