Recorded TV Metadata question

I frequently record movies on TV and view the dvr-ms recordings in VMC. I have some movies I would like to permanently save to disk and view in my Media Browser library.

Although they originated as TV, is there an easy way to locate the movie metadata and introduce it into Media Browser so the covers, etc. show?

My Computer

Yes but you will need to rename the file and put in a folder named after the movie and put it some where MB can find it. Like a folder MB already looks in for other movies.
Add the new movie to a existing folder and MB will pick it up
I use This Tool to add all of the metadata directly to the movie folder so I can choose what I actuality see in MB.

Movies are easy but tv shows folders need to be like so
i.e. Heroes/Season 3/Heroes 03x05 - Chapter Five 'Angels and Monsters'
for MB to know what they are. your names don't need to be just like mine but you get the point.

Hope this helps

My DVD rips are all in my D:\DVD folder now and MB sees them.

So if I am understanding you correctly, my movies recorded from television for example "Bee Movie" should be put in a folder as follows: D:\DVD\Bee Movie\Bee Movie.dvr-ms.

My Computer

yes that is correct. you can save your self quite a bit of room if you convert the dvr-ms to a avi or wmv so it will be it a more compressed format.

Thanks for the info. Thanks for the suggestion, yes I wish I could convert them, however most of the viewing here is done through a media extender that only sees dvr-ms.

O well in that case leave it as is and MB will do the rest!
Glad to help out.
