Realtek-No Audio For Vista 64

I can't get the the audio to work (at all) on Vista x64.
I went from XP to Windows 7 that didn't work out because I couldn't find any audio drivers that worked. So I decided to switch to Vista for the time being, same thing no audio.
I've tried installing the chipset and several versions of the audio drivers (RealTek). I've checked device manager and it detects it and shows it's working fine (even get the green bars when music plays). I have no clue what to do at this point so any help would be appreciated.

MOBO: Foxxconn G31MXP-K
Sound Card: Realtek ALC662 5.1 Channel

PS: Yes I checked the volume controls

Is the onboard audio enabled in the BIOS? Can you uninstall the current driver, reboot, let vista install its own driver, then reinstall the driver from here:

Realtek

Choose wheter you need AC 97 or HD drivers and donwload the right package for x64.

If that fails look for your motherboard manufacturers audio driver.

Hi, yes the onboard audio is on and I unistalled the driver and let vista do it's thing, I then installed the new driver r230. I tried AC'97 but Vista will not let me install it it says "Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software" I click Install driver anyway but it keeps popping up with the window indefinitely. I've also tried all the MOBO Drivers and Utilitys.

Vista x64 will not allow unsigned drivers to install. At all. Open up dxdiag and check if you have realtek hd or realtek ac and try to get the right driver.

The option on the first sound tab is set to headphone, change it to speakers, in the sound applet in control. Set it as default and in properties, advanced, tick both boxes for exclusive access and apply.

The drivers you need are the HD ones, not AC.

Set speakers as default and both boxes were ticked already. Installed HD r230 and messed around in BIOS and don't have any audio.

In the speaker properties is use this device enabled and in the properties window of Realtek are there any error messages?

Yes, the speaker is enabled and I haven't had any errors at all actually everything works like it should just no sound. Thanks for the help though going to try a reinstall now.

The funny thing is though is my MOBO was plug and play for Vista
