Realtek High Def back panel greyed out vista x64

The back panel jacks are greyed out in my realtek audio manager. I have the front panel jack detection disabled, otherwise all of the jacks are greyed out and I don't get any sound at all. I have speakers connected to the green line out of both the front and back panel, and both produce sound after a system boot up, but sometimes the back panel stops producing output, although the front panel continues to function. I didn't have this issue in xp at all, just vista. Anyone know a fix?

Hi, damnchow, and welcome to the forums.

A lot of people seem to be having issues with RealTek HD audio, either the back panel or the front panel, but I have been one of the lucky ones in that I don't have any such issues. Part of that may be because I don't use the front panel at all, and only use the back panel, so nothing ever gets changed.

At any rate, there are at least three threads I know of off the top of my head in this forum about issues which, if not identical, are very similar to your own. Unfortunately, none, AFAIK, have gotten any resolution.
