really mean virus

Hello,
I somehow managed to get a pretty advanced virus last night like I've never seen before...
I've done a full computer scan and it only found a couple of files. I know the exact time when I got it, so I've been scouting around my C:/ and I've found quite a few exe (and other type) files which are part of it. However I can't delete them due to 'permissions'.

My standard task manager has been made invisible when I do CtrlAltDel but using sofware explorer I found a load of virus tasks set to run on startup and currently running, these I can end, but they just come back after a minute or so.

There are a load of virus files hidden in my user files, however this folder has been made hidden and the virus removed my permissions to edit files or folder settings on C:/

please help me!!! Totally at the mercy of this virus :'|

If you want my advice, reinstall the system. Whatever you do to remove the virus will probably not suffice and you will lose more time mucking around with it than a reinstall would take.

Maybe you can set the system back to an earlier restore point in safe mode. But if you don't have a suitable restore point, then "option 1" applies.

For the future I suggest you do imaging so that you can easily get out of a bind like that. See here how to: Image your system with free Macrium - Windows 7 Forums

Well, as far as i remember the largest file was about 25Mb. But yesterday my whole computer ceased to function so I went with so called 'option 1'. Just about managed to save my important files but now i need to get a hold of an operating system.

Anyway thanks for the comments. My advice for anyone reading is... make sure if you dl a torrent you are sure it's a reliable one (check user comments).
