I have an OCZ ATV 4gb usb stick plugged into my computer all the time for readyboost. However I find that it stops showing up in windows explorer sometimes. Is it still working but just not showing or has it stopped and is there a way to fix this?

I have that happened to me intermitently and I also believe that the jump drive gets corrupted some times since I usually don't eject it or use the "Safely Remove Hardware" before pulling the jump drive out.

Another theory I have is that there is some sort of internal conflict with IRQ's when you plug/unplug your usb devices multiple times, perhaps windows vista or XP doesn't clean the allocation of IRQ's in time or does so after a clean restart.

This is probably not related to the problem described by Swarfega, but I have the same OCZ ATV Turbo 4GB USB stick (wow! it's fast!) and I tried to use it for readyboost and ended up with Vista64 freezing every five or ten minutes for the first half an hour. After this "warm-up" period everything was working properly. I don't understand this, because when I used this USB stick for transfering big files everything was working properly - no errors whatsoever.
Anyone else had this problem?

Even when you plug and unplug the USB flash drives multiple times(when used as ReadyBoost), the IRQ's gets confused as the so-called superfetch data is interrupted between the memory and the USB flash drive.
