Random BSOD

My girlfriend recently bought a new computer from Sony and after only a few weeks of use is already getting the BSOD. This BSOD occurs at random times and often when the computer is just sitting idle. Below is the error messages she received and attached is her DxDiag. If anyone has any possible suggestions or know solutions any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

first thing upgrade to service pack 2 update all the drivers you can (you'll find them on the manufacturers website)

and attach your minidump file (c/windows/minidump) so we can take a look at it :)

I would say that is your video card driver, it says locale ID 1033, i have gone through those with my 3870x2 from time to time. what catalyst driver are you running? i would recommend you download the latest and install that. be sure to uninstall the old one first using this Guru3D - Driver Sweeper let us know if this solves your problem

Archie123: I think the file you want from me is the Mini083109-01.dmp
I tried to attach it but it says invalid file type. Should I save it with a different extension?
We are in the process of updating Windows and all drivers.

My Computer

Copy the .dmp to a .zip file and upload it or follow the guide in my sig if Vista boots.

This is the same BSOD as the KB973879 update causes - but we don't know if you have it or not.

Go to Start and type in "windows update" (without the quotes) and press Enter
In the next Window, click on "Installed Updates" in the lower left corner.
Scroll down the list and locate (KB973879). If you find it, right click on it and select "Uninstall".
Reboot and see if it still Blue Screens on you.

If you don't find the (KB973879), then zip up the contents of the C:\Windows\Minidump folder. Then upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.
