Racing a K-car and Escort

This isn't the greatest race, I know, but I have an acer aspire 2.8 ghz quadcore, with 4 gb ram. I'm running Vista home premium, 64 bit. It comes with an onboard ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics card.

I also have a ATI Radeon X1650 pro left over from my previous computer.

Does it make any sense to install this low budget card - with its dedicated RAM (512 MB if I remember correctly) or should I just stick with the on board video card. I believe it dedicates 128 MB of the RAM from the mainboard and borrows more when necessary.

I'm not a serious gamer - but if the 1650 will make my computer run better for other applications I'm interested in changing it.

Well, I did contemplate it - but I have to admit that I'm new to this Vista 64 bit business and I've hated the driver experience to this point. I probably will try just that. I suspect I won't notice much difference at all.

install the card mate........


the X1650 PRO is far better than an onboard solution, here you can see the two performance wise, both these results were done with comparable CPUs

HD3200..

X1650 PRO..

if nothing else it will alleviate load from the mobo.... this is what the card requires.......350-Watt power supply or greater (assumes fully loaded system)

the system should feel smoother....IMO
