PSP X2 won't work now

I got a new HP computer (with INTEL GMA 3100 Integrated graphics) running Vista Home Premium 64-bit. I can't get my copy of Paint Shop Pro X2 to run now. It worked fine on my Windows XP 32-bit computer.

I installed PSP from the disk, downloaded the update from the Corel site but still can't get it to run. When I Googled the problem, I see that I am not alone and yet I haven't found any solutions that work for me. Among the suggestions were to run the program in virtual XP mode and changing to Vista Basic from Aero. Neither made any difference.

This version of Vista has been out a while now. Hoping one of you can point me in the right direction to fix this problem. I miss my PSP. Sniff.

I have a week old HP p6130f with GeForce 9100 integrated graphics also running Vista Home Premium 64bit. I tried an install with PSP 9 (which I no longer use) and it went beautifully - very, very fast. The process was a bit odd looking but it worked fine.

It might be a good idea to call HO support, they are doing a good job these days. Also call Corel - When PSP was Paint Phop Pro, telephone support was great - today, I dunno.

While waiting for the fix, take a look at Photo Scape and Paint.Net both free and very good. You will probably need both because one is good at sorting, etc., and the other does the touch ups (and more).

How well my installation will run is another question - when opening it, it said something about reverting to Vista Basic colors but looked OK at a glance. Beyond that, who knows?
