program removal

I want to know if I remove a program in a different user account will it be removed from the entire system or just the user account in where it was removed. Here is an example; I want to remove a program from the guest account but not the other two user accounts that have it.

You don't want to use the "Programs and Features" control panel to remove the program. That would remove it from all users and from the system.

When a program is installed for all users, the short cuts are installed here:

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

Programs installed for individual users are stored here:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

If you don't want all users to have access to the programs, you need to put a copy of the shortcuts here for each user you want to have access:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

And you need to remove the shortcuts from here:

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

What a user sees in their Start/All Programs list is a combination of what is in the two paths above.

Regards,

Scott
