Solved Problems with Zip extractions

To get as specific as possible, I'm currently trying to D/L addons for World of Warcraft, which of course are in zip form. When downloaded off of firefox, it doesn't allow me to open/use anything I Download. When downloaded off or IE, it downloads the zip file, but when I go to extract it where I want it, the file is completely empty. I checked and they were not empty before extraction.
Win Vista 32 buissiness, 32 bit service pack 2. Have downloaded and used zips before on this system, until recently. Only thing that has changed is I recently started using Mcafee Total Protection. I realize that this could be the issue, but I have no clue how to get around that feature (if that IS what it is) and their customer service seems impossible to get a hold of. Any suggestions please?

Ok this is only advice do it you feel safe.
Turn off macfee down load the file extract it
do what it is you have to do with the file.
When done turn it back on.
It should have a turn off for a certian amont of time
button.
After that is done open macfee an go to options and
see if there is scan zips option. If so turn it off.
Or you could read the help thing or call support.

Hope I was a little help to you.

What program are you using to unzip the file?

Try downloading the free alternative to Winzip: 7-Zip

You should be able to extract the file using this program.

Was extracting with Vista's built in extraction. Hadn't tried 7-zip simply because .exe's were getting blocked too, but I found a way around that late last night and haven't had a problem since. So thanks for the advice guys... I love technology but MAN it can be annoying
