Problems with Microphone

Hi ,

I recently bought a Sony Vaio VGN Notebook, but when i tried to use the voice chat option that doesnt seem to wrk, i tried looking at the mute of playback and recorder but everythin is unmuted but still am not able to record my voice or do a voice chat. Pls suggest me.

I checked on this forum for some tips and i tried some of them like looking out for driver details. my driver looks recent.

suggest me some options.

What sort of microphone is it?

The Microphone is a Oridnary Microphone,, not sure about the brand, i have a Windows Vista Home Premium and the Audio Device installed is a Realtek Audio Device. I checked on that and the drivers are up to date and also all the things which needs to be enabled(In Recording the Microphone is On,and in playback ther mic is off) in the controlpanel-> Sounds are enabled, still am not geting any voice input through my mic.

Either there is a problem with the Mic or there is some prob with Vista Audio Driver.

Anyone has any idea as to should i need to enable something else to have my mic working if in case i missed to do something.
