Problems with keyboard

Sometimes, when i start my computer and it reaches the log in screen, typing on my keyboard inputs nothing into the password area. However, before the log in screen, at the boot up screen, those with the system recovery and setup buttons, usage of the keyboard is okay.

I jus tried restoring to a previous point and everything was okay. To me, it seems like vista isn't sensing and inputing the keys i type in.

Any help would be apprecieated... and a fix to the problem would be the best.

Thanks.

Hi Izy23 and welcome to the forums

Are you sure that the password box is active? Does it have a flashing cursor in it? If not, use your mouse to select it. When you have a flashing cursor, you then can use your keyboard to enter your password.

yes, im sure its active.

For some reason, sometimes, when im using the computer, they keyboard will just stop inputing any thing on the screen. No matter what keyboard i change to, the problem presists, even if i replug the keyboard. It can't be the USb port, cause the mosue is till moveable, however, the problem can only be fixed if i restore the computer to a previous point.
