Problem with WMP (in Vista)

Problem with WMP (in Vista) Dear Friends,

I have a Sony VAIO laptop on which VISTA is loaded. The problem is
with Windows Media Player. I can't see any thing on it....there is
always BLACK SCREEN with Audio on. I have browsed many forums and also
theVista forum to find the solution but with no success!!

I have downloaded all types of codecs available on internet but no use till now! If anyone knows a Codec which works please send the link......

If any one faced similar problem and found the solution kindly share it!

You didn't "skin" the player with something 3rd-party perhaps, did you?

Does the black screen symptom always occur whenever there's sound, even if WMP is not running? In other words, if you go to say CNN.COM and watch their news videos, does the screen go black while the sound is playing?

I didn't skin the player.

No if I play cnn.com I can view it, as it is based on Adobe flash player! The problem is only if the streaming runs based on WMP, I can hear the audio but no video could be viewed.

Basically this is the problem.

Do you know a solution for this problem? I already tried all sorts of updates and Codecs available on internet.
