problem with shortcut

while trying to open folders an error message comes up.
shortcut has been changed or moved so this shortcut will no longer work properly.
then it asks if i want to delete this shortcut.i dont know how to by pass the shortcut to open the folders,can some one please help me?P.H.

Hello Patrick, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Is the folder the shortcut? If so, then you can create a new shortcut from the original folder to have one that works properly again.

cant find original folders,looked everywhere i can think of.
only thing i can find is these shortcuts and they won't open.
can you direct me to where i can look for the folders and how to open them once there located?thanks,P.H.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to tell you where the original folders are since I do not know what the shortcuts are for, and not sitting at your computer. They could point to just about any location.

Is this for all shortcuts on your computer, or just a few?

You might see if doing a System Restore using a restore point dated before the shortcuts no longer worked may be able to fix this.
