problem with search

hi

i have a strange problem when i want to search for a file ,, that it only shows the exact name of files ,,, exampe ,,,, i want to search a file its name (snowsmoke)

it will not show me every file that contain the name snow & the name smokw,,, it will only show the file if i write the exact name ,,, sometimes i only remmeber a part of the name and type it and search for it but it does not display the file ,,,, saw is there any tip to search and display all files that contain the name ?

ya i did check it our before i post ..... there is nothing about searching a part of the name and displayes all files that includes that name ,,,,,,,, thanks anyway ,,

Yes, but did you try it? Example: My camera names all pics DSCN0???. If I do a search for 'DSCN' (no quotes) it will find all pics that I have not yet renamed. Be sure to use advance options to tell the comp. where to search (everywhere if you don't know where the files are) and tick 'include non-indexed...'. The default is to search only indexed items and the files you are searching for may not be indexed.

This may help :
Start menu> right panel, click Search> click Tools> click Folder Options, click Search tab> check out " How to Search " heading, you might want to tick the first 2 boxes> click OK when done.
Let me know the result.
