Problem with running IE8

I installed IE8, but when I started it a window would come up and say "Internet explorer has stopped working". I searched for a problem and all I could find was that I needed a DEP compatible version of IE8. Can anyone help me please?

Try uninstall IE8 and reinstall using windows update.

Thanks CyberZues, I tried that and again a window came up saying "To help protect your computer Data Execution Prevention has closed internet explorer" So I had to uninstall again. Any ideas?

Do you have some add-ons for IE? If so, uninstall them and re-try...

I'm not sure what they would be.Are they in IE8? Where do I find them to uninstall? Thanks for your help.

They are usually in your installed apps in Control Panel
