ive had a problem with photoshop cs3 lately. it worked for a couple weeks, then it suddenly stoped working. everytime i try to import a picture, or start a new project, the program would not respond anymore. i tried reinstalling it. i even installed my old cs2, still the same problem. any help would be appreciated thanks.

I don't know if this will help you at all, but I had a lot of problems with PSCS3 and Lightroom doing about the same thing as you had on my Vista laptop. After a reinstall of both and that not helping. I found that one image had become corrupt and that screwed up the works. Thankfully, at the time I still had those images on my CF cards. You might try doing a chkdsk TWICE on the disk/drive that has the images and read the results of the chkdsk well. I tried chkdsk once and it did not help that well so I reformatted my photo drive, which luckily was easy to do because there was only about 200 images there and it was on a seperate partition on a second hard drive.
I don't know if that will help you but.... . My XP computers never had problems with corrupted image files but Vista may be more delicate.
