Problem with installing Nvidia 8400 GS

I installed a Nvidia 8400 GS and it worked perfectly ok. I turned off my computer went to bed, job done. Next day I turned the computor on to find there was no monitor. I changed the plug to the onboard graphics (running NVIDIA GeForce 7050 PV / nForce 630a - which had been disabled), which bizarrely worked. I looked at the display settings which told me that it was running a VgaSave adaptor.

I uninstalled the 8400 and then re-installed it, updated the drivers. Worked great. Turned the computer off, and upon turning it back on the same thing happened.

Dispite being told that it's working perfectly I can not get the monitor to work using the 8400 card at all, unless I uninstall it and re-install it. However, when I turn the computer off it ceases to work again.

What am I doing wrong here? Any ideas? What do I have to change to sort this out? All help gratefully received. Thanks.

Hello deanius,
Was this a new card or a used one ?.
When you restart, go to Device Manager and look to see if you have a yellow triangle at the side of your Display Adaptor.
Take a look and post your results, good luck.
