Problem with home network

I am having problems typing in the user name of my other computer in our home network. I type it in and it just defaults back to something else that's in there. like this... I will type in a word ..like..eclipse..for the user name and then type in the password in the box underneath...then it comes up as ..whatever/eclipse ...and will not let me connect. And I cannot get rid of the username that's in there. If you have an idea, I hope you tell me what it is, for I am totally lost.

Sorry Sally, but your post was virtually indecipherable; all it tells us is that you have a home network.

Please look at:

http://www.vistax64.com/general-discussion/218957-how-ask-help.html

Then, please download and run VistaForums SysInfo Tool - Vista Forums, click on Select All, then on the Windows icon, and export the report to a file.

Upload the report in your reply, see Vista Forums - FAQ: Reading and Posting Messages.

While you're waiting for a reply, please review the rest of the FAQ.

Note: The items in blue above are links; just click on them (actually, a better idea is to right-click and Open in a new tab).

I found out how to do it. I went to the advanced sharing options on the windows 7 computer and changed it to where it didn't need a password to get into it...that was so simple, no wonder I couldn't figure it out...haha

Now, if only I could do a remote desktop to it from here.
