Take the sage advice of pauliewalnuts and in addition take a memory diagnostics, to see how the memory is working. Just type memory diagnostics in search and click to begin the test.

Run and A/V scan

Your homepage may have been changed, go to the hompage icon and see what is listed as your homepage. If you change it back, does it return to the page that you do not want?

I understand that you mentioned that you did a virus scan, but this does sound like something that has gotten into the system and causing problems.

As I thought, I have come up with a possible reason for your problem, you may have been scripted.

Go to internet options and home page. Is it your home page?

Then go to browsing history and delete.

then go to settings, view objects, delete all scripts and program applets

Make a system restore before you begin, in case you do not like the results.

This should work

What he says and, dude, upgrade Vista. You're on SP1.

There's exploitation pipelines in SP1 galore.

Does your Rockstar Games Social Club crash, too?

I'm wondering if it's a .NET error. A .NET framework error would explain why it's only Internet applications that are crashing.

Go to your "Control Panel," to "Programs and Features," then Uninstall any Microsoft NET framework version you have.

Restart.

Go to Download .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and More on MSDN and download the 3.5 Service Pack 1. Install it and restart and see if your programs work.

No it's really a root kit virus.
Norton finally found it and deleted
