Problem since installing IE 9

I finally bit the dust and installed IE 9. I have been using Firefox for quite some time but read that IE 9 is the safest browser right now. In any event, I went to the page to test for what version of Adobe Flash Player I have and the test won't run.

My flash player should be current because I use Secunia PSI, but I clicked on a link that told me I had to have the newest version of Adobe Flash to view the page, so I was going to check out the version.

Hoping someone can help me with this. I'm wondering if it's some kind of security setting, but I'm not savvy enough to know what's going on.

I did uninstall Flash Player and then reinstall, and it's working fine in Firefox 3.6, but not in IE9. Kind of disgusting. I've waited all this time, install it and now flash player doesn't work, of all things!!

Anyway, as long as I'm writing I'm having another problem too, with the Bing Bar. Sometimes when I open IE9 there's a white box where Bing should be but the tool bar is gone. See screenshot. It's enabled and all so I don't have any idea what's wrong. Guess I'll have to go back to Firefox.

Flash is browser dependant, so you'll need to install it via the ie9 webpage.

Bing bar is probably the same.

Do you have activex filtering switched on? If so, you need to allow activex plugins (such as flash) to work on a 'per site' basis

My massive wifi antenna is in the post!
I did find something about that ActiveX deal and I allowed that. In Googling I found the FixIt button from Microsoft. I clicked on it and selected Internet Explorer and then went through every repair button they had listed for it. Flash is now ok and my Bing Bar is back.

Thanks to both of you for taking time to respond! :)

P.S. I see you are showing to allow ActiveX on a per site basis. I just went to Safety and unchecked ActiveX filtering. Will that work?

P.S.2 - fiesler: How do you bring up that box you show? The only thing I can find is under Safety. As soon as I check ActiveX Filtering it blocks me from any video.

I guess I do't have it sorted out. When I click on the little blue circle with the line through it all I get is the option to turn off ActiveX filtering. I don't get those other options shown in the drop-down box on the post here. I know I got them yesterday but they are gone now. What am I doing wrong?
