problem after shutting down system repair

my computer won't boot after i turned it off during system repair(it froze for about 2hrs at half way)...i was getting a blue screen error before it went into system repair,now all i get when i turn the computer on is one long sharp tone which repeats itself every 5 sec and lasts about 5secs and just continually does this until i hold the power button down
anybody come across this problem before or have any ideas, thanks

disconnected everything down to the motherboard and processor, the only time anything change was when i disconnected both memory modules.. im thinking the fact i turned it off during system repair that i might have corrupted the software somehow, there are no beep codes at all except for the tone, which is not a beep code, just thought somebody on hear must know what it means

Those beeps are diagnostic beeps and can diagnose the cause of the computer problem. Give us the make and model and we can help.
Sounds like it may be a memory problem, however.

make and model is posted, is not memory problem as i have replaced them already

After watching the video, I agree its not memory, but a long 15 second beep that reapeats every 5 seconds or so can mean no power or a short.

im pretty computer literate, which is the reason i will not goto a repair shop and pay for what i can repair myself, i managed to boot up last week, but then after 3 days and completing windows updates the same thing as this happened again, which kind of convinces me that its software problem, but i am drawn to thinking it might be the power

One thing that my experience has taught me, after more than a year helping out here and at the Seven Forums, is that sometimes extraneous symptoms can hurt our ability to diagnose, more than help. Coincidences do happen.
I am not familiar with a beep like that caused by software. That being said, just because I am not familiar with something does not mean it cant happen.

Just a shot in the dark but could it be an intermittent problem in your power supply.

could be, this has been at the back of my mind..is there a way i can do a check?? though it just doesnt add up that this would happen twice doing the same task :/ confused

As I said, it could be the power supply. The only way to test is with special equipment.

so guys, no luck with the power test all is good if not almost spot on with all the readings, any ideas what next??

Just another shot in the dark. Have you tried booting from a Vista or windows 7 disk and seeing if you can do a clean install?

not tried that but could give it a go, i did try with a recovery disk and that didnt work but maybe a full program would

ok, that didnt work so def not a software problem now!! ran out of ideas now so gonna take it for a diagnostic this weekend and find out once and for all!! disappointed i couldnt figure it out myself though..but hey ho..
p.s. i will never buy a slimline comp again(just cause the missus thought it looked "nice"!!) so arkward to work on, though i feel ive learnt alot through this process of elimination, cheers for the help guys

I've a feeling from watching the video that it could be a PSU problem. I can see that the graphics card fan is spinning, but is the other one that you show on the video working? It looks static to me, but that could just be how you've filmed it.
