I'm connected to a meraki hotspot via a (problematic) vista run laptop and from there want to run a crossover-cable connection to a W7 laptop I prefer to work on. In other words, turn the vista laptop into an access point. The reason is that the antenna of the W7 laptop is very poor, and so I'm planning to disable its wifi connection altogether.
The problem I'm running into is that as soon as I enable filesharing and the like, I open the connection (my files) up to the entire meraki network of about 2 dozen members. Is there any way to separate the two networks, or do I have to buy an AP.
I've been reading up a bit about pfSense but my hardware isn't supported.
