Printer stopped working

HI guys!! my aunt bought a new pc with a vista for its OS and a lexmark printer with scanner and a fax machine.. and then at the first the printer worked.. but few weeks later it won't print... i already plugged and unplugged its usb ports and tried other port... but nothing worked. I tried our old printer that is epson stylus c41ux it worked but we need the LEXMARK printer because we have a lot of inks here... please help...

I have an old HP Laserjet 4 (yes, it is that old) that still works perfectly with XP, I was able to make it work with Vista using a Parallel to USB converter but, everytime I have to unplug all the cables, whether, it be for cleaning the case or install new hardware (as I have upgrade my CPU & GPU), Vista will not install or let me print again, XP works perfect.

I am hoping also that those 2 links will work for me as this is something that does not bother me as much since I barely use the printer but is a consistant nag whenever I do want to use it and I am force to restart and go to my XP boot to print.
