Possible Vista problem

Just got a new laptop and trying to get my invoicing program up and running again. The computer keeps telling me that it could not configure pdf driver(Error: -8). Is this a Vista issue or other and if other, could someone please point me in the right direction?

Note: I installed Adobe Reader thinking that was needed but didn't help.

Thanks,
Brandon

Have had a similar issue. My answer was to get rid of Adobe..it has caused a few probs....and put the free open source Foxit Reader or Foxit Suite on. Foxit has a much smaller footprint too...another bonus. There are lots of good alternatives to Adobe out there,mate...a Google search will list them. Hope that helps. :)

Thanks for the reply. I tried that but still no good. Is it a Vista issue or do I need to configure something within the program. It worked on my desktop with XP and I downloaded support for Vista from the manufacturer.

Again, I try to send an invoice and a window displays "could not configure pdf driver".....

Hi BJYourk,

Could you be a little more specific about your problem. Do you know the name of the program causing the problem? Are your trying to print to from a PDF file?

And what do you mean by "Again, I try to send an invoice and a window displays "could not configure pdf driver"....."

Thanks.

I was just restating the problem. Anyhow, from my invoicing software I need to email an invoice. I click the icon that takes me there and that error message comes up. I also tried to just create a pdf and the same message appears.

Outside of being pretty much ignorant of this stuff, I don't know if it is referring to the actual program that would handle pdf's or the pdf printer drivers. I've tried googling "configure pdf drivers" and nothing comes up...it's all about printer drivers??!!

What invoicing software???

What program did you use to try and create a PDF file(?) with???

Just trying to narrow down the problem.

Oh, sorry...:o.

Instaform Invoice and Estimates.....I also tried Adobe, and Foxit to email directly from the program and it does not work. I used Cutepdf to save it and then send it from the Windows email program, but I'd like it to be integrated.

I looked at the compatibility and it says 32bit, BUT, I was/am under the impression that you can adjust how the program runs with the "Properties" tab. No....??

My Computer

Not familiar with that program, but have you checked the manufacturer's website for a "vista x64" solution? Is Vista x64 supported?

You could try running it in XP mode and or with Administrator mode. But...as you might have discovered, there might be a compatibility problem between it (Instaform Invoice and Estimates) and Vista 64.

Again, check the manufacturer's website for a solution.
