Please help me!! All my photos are stretched!

OK, I think I might really lose it with this new computer. I am trying to import my photos from my old computer and they are all stretched! Can I lock the aspect ratio somehow?

I can't tell you how much trouble this is causing me.
Please, please, please somebody help me, I feel like I might cry. Seriously. Elizabeth

Changing your screen resolution probably has everything to do with it. I suspect you have set it to a resolution for wide screen and you aren't/werent using a wide screen monitor, thus it's stretching it out to widescreen format

If Rive's good advice does not solve the issue

Are the original images JPG's coming from XP?,

If so i have seen occasions where for some reason Vista reads the internal DPI scaling incorrectly

I have found that this can be checked and corrected best by the use of the freeware Irfanview IrfanView - Official Homepage - one of the most popular viewers worldwide

If you open one of the files giving problems and press I for information you can check the Horizontal and Vertical DPI Setting which should be identical



The program is a worthy addition to anyones toolket if they deal with computer images anyway, :D

Or the inverse is the case and she now has a wide screen monitor, and the resolution is set to a 4:3 resolution.
