I never wanted to have to use Vista; I hoped my PC would hold out until the new Windows version was available and had been on the market long enough to have most bugs worked out....but, my PC died and, of course, its replacement came with Vista. I was seriously considering erasing the whole thing and putting XP on it, but didn't do that for fear of creating more problems. I now have everything working very well with one exception.
My Photoshop 7.0 software displayed fine in XP. Installed with Vista, although the fonts on the file menu were fine, the fonts on the windows for tools, layers, history, colors, etc. were so small, they were nearly impossible to read. Initially, I had the resolution set at 1152 X 864. Now, I have the resolution set at 1024 x 768. It has made a little difference but not much. If I set the resolution any lower, not only do I lose resolution of my work, but all windows for display settings, etc. in Vista get too big to fit on the screen. I have gone back and forth with the resolution and font settings and have not been able to make the photoshop tool/window fonts reasonable. Not to mention that I'd much rather work with a higher resolution. Any help to be had out there? Thanks.
