Phenom and triple channel memory issues

I just read on another thread that my Phenom may not support triple channel. Does this mean we can't have 3 2GB sticks in the slots and we should get one more to even things up? (we had originally bought a 3 pack and I don't know if we can buy a single stick of that type here).

I then read that having 4 sticks of DDR3 in can cause problems too - now I don't know what to believe

My setup is...

Gigabyte MA790XT-UD4P AM3
MS Window Vista Home Premium 64bit
Galazy GF 8400GS PCIe 512MB
AMD Phenom 11 x4 810
WD 640GB 7200RPM
Corsair TR3X6G133C9 6GB DDR3

and my previous thread with BSOD problems involving RAM is here....

Thanks!

No AMD cpu's currently support triple channel. And yes if you can find a fourth stick you can use it, just look for one that is the same specs as the three you already have.

The only "problems" is that it may down-clock to 800 MHz speeds with 4 sticks installed.

So does that mean we have to only run two sticks until we find a 4th? I am so new to all of this. :o

you can run all three with no issues. what he meant by same specs was same speed. preferably same brand and everything but if you cant same speed will work
