Hey guys,
built my own PC(at last) an am now wondering what sound card to get, the X-Fi cards look nice but i am just wondering... are they really aimed at home entertainment enthusiasts and gamer guys or gals? i mean they all seem to be PCI, but is this adequate for me?
i built this PC as both a sound engineer and a hardcore gamer(/IT professional/impatient person) and i think i have struck a balance. However i am using a standard high-def audio card(i got it from work), but i will be using this PC to edit and record music(professionaly) so this is really not going to do so i was wondering should i get PCI or is the extra speed on PCI express a must for professionals? and also should i go for the "run of the mill" or is there some professional standard cards out there?
i really value your guys opinions and have drawn from these forums a lot when building so any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!!
