I would like to know how to control windows explorer in vista home premium.
Specifically, I want to set WE so that it always open in full-screen mode and I want the Folder panel on the lefthand side to show all items as collapsed, not have some expanded.
Also I want to have all files always shown with details format. At present I have set this detail apparently for all folders and it works most times but sometimes when I open a new instance of WE, the files are shown as icons.

Method Two in this tutorial will reset all Windows Explorer folder views in Vista to use the Details view. This will help Vista remember how the window was set for when it was last closed.
Afterwards, set a window the way you like it and close it. The next time you open, it should open the same way. (Ex: Size, Location, Icon Size, etc...)
This will show you how to have the Windows Explorer shortcut open with the folder tree collapsed. You would just select the example with the screenshot of how you want it to open and use that location command.
