Optiaric DVD/RW ad-5530a disabled by update again!

Another windows update has disabled my Optiarc DVD/RW ad-5530a. I used Monaco's fix with the registry code and it was fine until the update for 2/23/10 (today). Since I have the code lines I'll have my friend work on it again. Is there anything I can do to keep this from happening again? Anyone have an idea which update I should not be downloading? It seems to be random since I've gone through several updates without this happening a 2nd time...until now. I'm running Vista Home Basic. Thanks.

Windows Update keeps a record of what updates it performs, so you can trace down what the update was and from there what updates applied to. Press the Windows key, type "Windows Update," and hit <Enter>. On the upper left you can "View update history."

I'm sorry I can't help you with your disc problem. I'm new in the game.
