Optiarc AD-7170S problems

Hi,

I've just bought an Optiarc AD-7170S Sata DVD burner. The problem is, it isn't recognized by Vista. I'm running Vista Ultimate x64. I have a Phenom 9550 Quad, 4 GB DDR2-800, and a Gigabte MA78GM-S2H motherboard. I've tried to download SATA/RAID controller drivers from the Gigabyte site, but Vista doesn't seem to be able to install them, or to properly download them for that matter.
I've tried emulating IDE in my BIOS, but that failed too.

I'm at a loss here, does somebody here know what to do?

Thanks in advance,

Kevin.

Vista should have drivers quite suitable for your burner. But it does sound like you might be having problems between Vista and the SATA interface on your motherboard.

That seems to be a strange error. Do you regularly have issues downloading?

Have you tried downloading them with Firefox or Opera? Have you tried downloading them on another computer and copying them over?

Thanks for your reply.

I've tried to download it with both IE and Firefox, both don't work. And I never have problems with downloading from websites.
But I will try to download it at another computer, if you think it is probably the connection Vista/Motherboard.

I'll post again in it did or didn't work.

Thanks again,

Kevin.

I'm running an AD-7191S and I haven't had any issues like that.
Do you have the latest bios update?
