So the internet on my girlfriend's computer just stopped working. I tried every simple fix I could think of with no success. I called Windows tech support and they tell me my network controller is corrupted and I have to use the initial windows install disc to reinstall all the drivers back to the factory settings. The only problem is she cannot find the disc. I've tried to find the drivers on Nvidia's website and I download what I think are the right drivers and the problem remains. Is there a way to reset the ethernet controller to confirm that is the problem? I've tried to uninstall the controller and restarting the computer so the system detects the new hardware and installs it on its own but the issue remains. As I have it right now I have a cable modem plugged directly into her computer. Any ideas for my next step?
