hello everyone

I HAVE AN MSI NVIDIA 9500GT 1 GB DDR2 graphic card and it is not showing display.
I purchased it in 2009 so can i claim a warranty or repair option??

I am from INDIA.

now let me start from the beginning that how the problem started.

I had an asus p5nmx board. one day when i booted it showed up
"SYSTEM BOOT FAIL PRESS f1 to continue" and from that time the graphic card didnt show display and den i inserted the monitor pin in default monitor and it showed display but after some days it also stopped working and it also didnt show display.

den i checked the graphic card in my frnds system it worked in it.
den i took my motherboard to repairing and i found that the MAIN CHIP of motherboard was gone so I decided to replace my mobo and got new ASROCK G41 board but the card is not working.

PLease tell where is the problem???

let me clear there are no driver issues
everything is updated.

Okay, I'm a little confused on the "MAIN CHIP of motherboard " Part.

Was it the cpu?

Did the repair shop replace the board?

Not knowing what caused the board to break first, but it is possible that the graphic card also got broke at the same time.
Though it worked in your friends pc.

Can you explain what happens when you start up?
Does the g41 board have an onboard video card?

the main chip means that the VGA chip of the board on which nvidia was written was gone it had an onboard nvidia geforce 7050 graphics...and the older board model was p5nmx...

Did the repair shop switch the boards for you.

If a power surge was the cause of the broke chip, power surges can break many peices when they happen.

Okay, I think you need to go into the bios and activate the pci-e video card as primary video.

I'm not sure of your question.
Can you ask it differently?

You ususally just plug the card into thge proper slot, and its good.

Oh, okay.

Yes they can.

If you have a power surge either from the power company, or from in the power supply, some parts may get too much voltage/current and break.
So in your case the mobo chip and the video card got too much power from the surge, and became bad.

OR

When the mobo chip went bad, it caused too much power to go to the video card causing damage.
This is possible, as it was the nvidia chipset that went.

Either way, it was bad luck.

Oh, yha the earthing/grounding issue can cause alot of issues.

What country are you in?

You may want to think about getting a UPS backup. Its meant to turn off your cojputer if you lose power, but they also keep power the proper amount. Can help with grounding your computer.
