What version of IE do you have? And what is your homepage address?

The reason I'm asking is, I'm pretty sure that ntvdm (Windows NT Virtual DOS Machine) would only be an issue if a not-32-bit program, applet, or other piece of code is trying to access your computer memory. ntvdm is called upon to work if something with older code is trying to run, like an old browser or really old Web code of an unusual type.

Disable your firewall and any Internet programs you have running like AIM or uTorrent.Download Internet Explorer 8 for 32-bit Windows Vista from the official Microsoft site. Run it.

Also, go to the Start Menu, and in the "Begin Search" text box type "Windows Update." Open the program that appears and install all of the "Important Updates."

And if you don't have the latest service pack for 32-bit Vista, you should definitely get it now. Microsoft has stopped support of the "bare-bones" Vista, the OS without service packs.
