Not Responding?

Is there any way known to man to get rid of this constant "Not Responding" alert. It's gotten so I don't even bother with IE as a browser any more because of it. Firefox is getting to be almost as bad. This isn't just an occasional problem, it happens at least a dozen times a day. I also get it frequently with other applications and games, both MS and third party.

I've used every version of Windows from the very first up through Vista, and various versions of DOS before that, and I have never encountered anything even remotely this bad.

Any suggestions?

Put the computer into clean boot. If everything works get back and we will go to the next step

Run CCleaner, restart the computer, or like richc46 said, clean boot.
