Hello everyone ,
Yesterday i downloaded the new drivers(9.9 DD and CCC) for my radeon hd 4870x2 and before installing i decided to uninstall the existing ones. Through the wizard I selected uninstall then quick option. It required a restart but I manually restarted later and noticed that the monitor is not displaying anything after windows boot up is complete.(BIOS and windows loading bar is displayed properly) How can i get the image on my monitor? Please help I am very desperate. Thanks in advance

What happens if you start the computer in Safe Mode? And install the new driver in safe mode.

I don't know anything about ATI cards but I would go to safe Mode, unistall the drivers again if I am allowed, Get new drivers for monitor and video. Restart and install with Elevated Admin Rights (right click and "Run as Admin").

Thanks for reply safe mode worked and I was able to uninstall the card again so that windows can boot normally and I can install the drivers as required. The problem is solved, how can I tag this thread as solved and when exactly should I press F8 for the boot up menu to appear(having hard time)?:)

I believe clicking the red triangle at the top right of the last post makes it solved (I'm not sure why, or why it's called 'report post', but that should be it).

After turning on your computer, Press F8 again and again until you get the boot menu (but pressing one long press may get it angry). It's after the POST (when you see your BIOS) and before the Windows loading.

To report a post as Solved, click the red triangle and state that the post (actually the thread) is solved. A Moderator or Administrator will then be able to mark it as such (I marked this one for you).
