NO sounds from my Windows Live Messenger 2009

I have my alerts set to notify me when a new email is received.I get a pop up window, and a sound. It works fine for a bit than, no more sound. I still get the pop up, but than, no sound.

I have tried everything, can you help meout with this.
I am running Vista Home Prem, on a Dell laptop 1525.

From the sound of things, you should be getting sound. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling? There might just be a small glitch that’s causing your sounds to disappear.

Try that and let me know how it goes.
