So, I just finished installing and updating Vista Ultimate 64, and have updated all my device drivers, more or less... I'll get into that in a minute.
The problem is, my device manager says my sound drivers are installed and working, however, I get no sound. Yes, my volumes are all maxed, unmuted, and my speakers are proper plugged in. The problem is that its using a default Microsoft driver, when I'd rather use the drivers for my sound card (integrated into my P5E3 Deluxe Wifi). Everytime I go to install these drivers it says my hardware is incompatible - and I'm using the drivers that came with the motherboard's CD. I have also tried to use the ones off of asus.com with the same results.
Both driver installs indicate that I should try and uninstall the current drivers and restart. So I do that, and Vista automatically reinstalls the default Microsoft driver - and I can't seem to cancel it or stop it from doing that. Please help - I'm going crazy trying to get this to work!
Thanks,
