No OS eorror

Not sure if I posted in the right category; so please move if necessary. I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop which has completely locked me out. I cannot boot with out a black screen saying I need to run my recovery disk or another screen will pop up and repeat itself saying over and over;
Realtek fast ethernet adapter
media test failure
exiting PXE Rom

Another try to boot up it will say this;
Windows Boot Manager
Install Windows installation disk and restart
File: Boot\BCD
Status: 0xc000000f
info: an error occured while attempting to read boot configuration data

Tried F8 while booting from HDD skips a goes straight to above screen.

If I run the disk repair under system recovery options it says
Windows found problems w/ start up options
I then click on repair start up it then says:
Failed to save start up options

Another test says I have no OS installed

I try memory check it says:
windows cannot check for memory problems.

I try command prompt and I cannot get it to display any drive other then X:\

BTW I am running Vista SP2 Satellite Model #A135-4527

I have two computers so, copy info from one to the other is no problem. If I left any needed information out please respond

Thank You all

Re: No OS error

That's a network boot - you don't need to worry about that.

Another try to boot up it will say this;
Windows Boot Manager
Install Windows installation disk and restart
File: Boot\BCD
Status: 0xc000000f
info: an error occured while attempting to read boot configuration data

Have you tried system restore - also, if you have an image of the Windows system, you can restore it from there.

Is C: where your Vista OS is?

Yes, I tried to restore it says:
I need to specify which windows installation I want to restore.

There is only one windows installation and it's on C drive

The restore cd can't find it.

My Computer

try C:

if it doesnt have a list of OS to repair, then just click continue. it'll detect it self.

Cool! I typed C: in command prompt and it switched. I was trying C:\ any way. Only way I can access a command prompt is through recovery cd. Now, that I have a C: prompt what should I type?

if that happens, try these:
bootrec.exe /fixmbr
bootrec.exe /fixboot
bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd

try those in c: and x:
Also try,
chkdsk /f
sfc /scannow

they're probably won't fix, but they might help.

Unfortunately those listed didn't work. When I did the SFC/SCANNOW this error came up:
Windows Resource protection couls not perform requested operation

Then I ran start up repair it said:
could not repair computer automatically

I opened the details window it said this:

problem sig.1
2
3 0
4 65537
5 unknown
6 No OS installed
7 0
8 1
9 Fix partition Table
10 15299

Does that tell you anything?
