No network connection

I have internet by AT&T and the modem has 1 phone-line port and 4 Ethernet ports. 3 of the Ethernet ports are directly connected to 3 computers and the 4th connects to a network switch, Linsys SD208 - unmanaged switch. All of the 4 lights are on.

On SD208, I have 8 ports and 6 of them are connected. All of the 6 lights are on. 1 of the is taken with the Ethernet connection between modem and network switch, 3 to computers and 2 for something else. On these computer, I am not able to get internet.

I am trying to figure out, how can I connect
Modem => Network Switch => Computer
and get internet on the computer. Is there some setting I need to configure on these computers or the modem?

All 6 of the computers are on same WorkGroup. The 3 computers that are on the network switch are able to talk with each other (I can ping), but don't have internet connection. 3 computers that are on the modem have internet access. The computers that are on modem are not able to ping the computers that are on the network switch. How can I have them on same network so they can talk to eachother?

Any and all help is appreciated. If I need to clarify my situation, let me know.

Hi,

On the SD208 switch all ports are the same and can be used for uplink purposes. This could mean that it can be as simple as the cable used to connect the AT&T modem to the Linksys.
Even though the lights are on doesnt mean to say the cable is 100% you could try a different cable to the same port you used now, or even to a different port on the linksys , as it could off course also be a bad port. (on either of the two boxes used)

Hope this helps..

Ron
