Have a new HP computer with Vista Home Premium x64.
When I turn the computer on and try to go on-line, get the error "no dial tone". I know that's not so, the phone and XP machine are OK. Cables are all OK.
If I uninstall the modem using device Manager, then completely shut down the computer, then turn everything back on again the PC recognizes the modem and I can dial-up and go online for as long as I want.
As soon as I shut it off, I have to go through the same routine again.
Any suggestions before I send it back to HP?
I've been working with their tech support with no luck.
Thanks,
