no CD/DVD drivers

Hi all

I have a big problem and I don't want to reinstall Vista. I had drive X: (logical DVD-RW drive) and drive T: (a virtual drive), my problem is that in disk managent window i have only my HDD drive and my DVD drive is missing...
Can anyone help me????

Try looking in device manager to see if it appears there.
Try starting in safe mode.
list your system specs.

Is it an ide or sata drive.
Does the eject button work on the drive.

my logical and virtual drives were working fine until yesterday....
the drive is on IDE and the tray door is ejecting just fine...

just restarted in safe mode and changed the user...
the same thing happens, no drives
