hi, happy new year everyone. hands up not a techy person. got vista home premium OS my usb mouse has stopped working, tried another mouse and all usb ports, tried ext hdd to prove usb ok and found ok though will not work for mouse. any help much appreciated

What is the USB Mouse Model number? and is the Port you are using a 2.0 Port , How old is the Computer and the Mouse

thanks for the reply josh, i seem to have come across a series of unfortunate circunstances, i had 2 working usb mouse only for them to fail a day after each other, this led to the next conclusion the fault maybe the laptop/drivers, luckily i have borrowed another mouse and everything seems to be working. i am about to purchase a new mouse and hopefully put to bed this problem fingers crossed .again thanks for your reply

Before you do could you please check in Device Manger for any Errors,

Click Start and in the Search box Search for Device manger

After that Please Upload a Snip of the Image and report back any Yellow Warning Signs or Red Errors

While you are in Device manager looking for errors or corruption, make sure that the USB drivers are up to date.
