First thing to check is to make sure the game your playing is for a 64 bit system. Some older 32 bit on-line games can play on some 64 bit systems but not all. Why, who knows? Next, check you graphics, is it on-board graphics or do you have a separate graphics card installed. Check the settings on either of them. Most important is to check to make sure you have all the latest updates and drivers for your system. Use M$ updates from your programs list to update your important and recommended updates and check for the non essentials, you'll have to manually check the box for those to download. For your drivers, you'll have to go to the manufactures website for those which is recommended. Then reboot system. Next thing I would suggest is to run some malware, spyware, adware software, then run your antivirus then run a disk defragger and registry cleaner then reboot again. This is to rule out any bugs and tune up your system. Then check to see if your issue persists.
