Hi! After saying I'd never use Vista here I am running a Vista rig! and after 2 days I have to say it is great.

I have a HP Laptop Core2duo @ 2.4 + 3 Gb memory and 500 GB drive (2x250) it came package with Home Premium which I moved up to Ultimate.

Initially I thought I could not live with the sytem asking me to confirm everything and not letting me do things I took for granted with XP however, after reading the forums here I found out about Super Admin and other tips and tricks and now I love it.

Very fast lots of eye candy! does a PI 2million in 55 secs mirrors my HD using Acronis in less than 1/2 hour - took XP 1 1/2 hours!

So I'm a happy camper :geek:

It's very nice to hear such a good report on someone's initial Vista experience. I, and many others, don't run UAC. UAC, IMO, is aimed primarily at organization network use--although it can be useful "at home." The best reasons, IMO, for not using UAC are if one is on a primarily single-user computer and runs good virus and malware protection and a 3rd party firewall with good outbound protection. You might as well run as administrator too, IMO. Others will disagree with my views.
