hai, i am new to this forum, i lurked around a little bit and it seems like you guys are very dedicated to help out people with their problems=D. so i have a few questions for you guys. i am very sorry if they have been asked a thousand times before.

1)when ever something runs, there is a little text box that pops up saying admin status is required to do this. how do i get rid of it???

2) when i start up my computer, it goes to the log in screen, one shows admin account and one shows my account which i use. is there any way for it to automatically go to my account? or get rid of the admin account?

3) i have seen sp1 for vista, but i have heard from other people that it has problems? is it true? if so could it be fixed after installing. or does it work perfectly fine now.

ty in advance, i will check back in later

Hello sodium, welcome to the forums,

If you have a look through this recent thread regarding the User account control in vista It will give you some background

http://www.vistax64.com/vista-account-administration/183734-uac-disabled-same-run-administrator.html

to enable auto login in vista have a look at this tutorial.

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/66966-logon-automatically.html

as for SP1 I have installed this many times without problems, most if not all of the compatibility problems when it was first released have now been solved. howeever some people have had problems installing it. what I would advise is that it is a worthwhile upgrade but just to be safe if things should go wrong make sure that you have backup copies of all your personal files

hope this helps

ty very much for the help, i have decided i will just leave the UAC thing and sp1 for now, but the automatic login was very helpful. now i dont have to do it manually =D

one more thing, are there any other tweaks or tips for vista that i should know of or do??

Hi sodium
Glad it helps

as for tweaks and tips if you browse through the tutorials on the forum you will find lots of things to tweak on vista and good instructions how to do it. As to the question as to if you should tweak vista that is in the end up to you :D

if as you use Vista you find yourself saying "I wish it would do ... like this ..." then search the forums and tutorials first, if you can't find what you want then post a question and if it's possible to do I'm sure someone here will be able to guide you

Hello Sodium, welcome to Vista forums!

You really need to install SP1 regardless of what 'others' have said.
SP1 fixes problems Vista had earlier, IT IS NEEDED !!!

Please re-think this decision.
