Solved New HD

I'd like to install a new HD in my computer that did not come with any Vista disks. The comp came with recovery disks that restore to factory default; is this enough to reinstall Vista once I install the new HD?

Hello A7X808,

That should be all that you need, but since a OEM Vista is tied to that specific computer's motherboard and hard drive, you may need to contact Acer if it refuses to install.

I was able to load the factory default on the new HD...along with all the crapware

Everything seems fine so far! Thanks

I'm happy to hear that all went well. At least you can use Program and Features to remove the crapware though.

Try using this free program to create a disk image after you get it set up the way you want. This will speed restore/re-installation in the future without requiring your OEM recovery (creates an exact image of your computer)
